We are looking for a professional and ambitious Risk Consultant to join our Risk Engineering team. Become a key member of our growing and dynamic team of Boiler Inspectors by lending your exceptional organization skills and keen eye for detail to support our practice nationwide. How you will create impact:
As a qualified boiler inspector, conducting periodic inspections of boilers and pressure vessels for our clients and helping them meet the requirements of the Provincial Regulations.
Managing workflow, including timely requests and communication with clients, brokers and jurisdictions on findings identified during inspections.
Contributing to our knowledge base and acting as a resource on aspects related to jurisdictional inspections.

To join our team:
Education – Completion of one of the following areas of study

Diploma, bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Applied Science or Technology from an accredited institution.
Power Engineering certification program (2nd Class or higher).
Boilermaker, steamfitter or pipefitter.
Military or merchant marine training program – marine or stationary boilers, pressure vessels or nuclear reactors (2nd Class or higher).
American Petroleum Institute API-510 or API-570 Inspector certification.
Completed a course of study in an accredited technical school that included subjects on Manufacturing, Building Construction, Construction Technology, HVAC and Industrial Technology.
Experience – 5 years minimum in the pressure equipment industry undertaking

Engineering or design review.
Manufacturing, fabrication methods or process, in either shop or field.
Operation of a high-pressure boiler steam plant > 50,000 lbs./hr. (total capacity).
Repairs, alterations or maintenance of boilers and/or pressure vessels.
Inspection of boilers and/or pressure vessels (in-service or during construction).
Intermediate degree of computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite preferred), including ability to quickly learn new/proprietary software.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
National Board In-service commission (IS) and Ontario Certificate of Competency (COC) is an asset.
Knowledge of Risk Engineering in insurance such as loss exposures, hazards and controls is an asset.
Certified Insurance Professional (CIP) or Canadian Risk Management (CRM) Designations are an asset.
This position primarily works with majority non-francophone groups, and teams located outside of Québec, and requires proficiency in English. The essential non-French duties are not assignable to adjacent or other team members.
What you need to know:
The successful candidate will undergo training to acquire their National Board “In-service Commission” and Ontario Certificate of Competency (COC)
High degree of independence working from a home office.
Travel may at times be extensive, with overnight stays required.
Site visits include industrial/manufacturing facilities and work in confined spaces.
