Our team is currently seeking a Shift Supervisor – Power Engineer to play a key role in keeping our operations running safely, reliably, and efficiently.
In this role, you’ll work a seven days on, seven days off rotation in Bishop’s Falls, Newfoundland, with shared accommodations fully provided. What You’ll Do
Supervisory & Leadership Responsibilities
Supervise power engineers, boiler operators, and shift personnel
Lead production floor operations to meet safety, quality, and output targets
Delegate tasks, adjust staffing, and monitor production metrics (uptime, scrap, materials)
Ensure adherence to SOPs, safety standards, and emergency procedures
Provide training, coaching, and mentorship to engineers and operators
Lead or support root cause investigations and corrective actions
Coordinate with internal departments, contractors, inspectors, and regulatory authorities
Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs
Maintain shift reports, downtime logs, and handover documentation
Support capital planning and recommend equipment or process improvements
Operations & Technical Duties
Operate and monitor boilers, air compressors, chillers, steam systems, and manufacturing equipment
Perform chemical testing and treatment of boiler feedwater and cooling systems
Support production operations as line lead and complete required production and operating records
Respond to system alarms and coordinate repairs with maintenance teams and contractors
Maintain accurate logs, inspections, and maintenance documentation
Lead or assist with mold changeovers, preventive maintenance, and equipment upgrades
Identify and implement energy efficiency and process improvement initiatives
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
What You Bring
Certification: 4th-Class Power Engineer (required), 3rd-Class an asset
Experience: Experience operating boilers, compressors, chillers, and utility systems. Prior experience conducting chemical testing and treatment of boiler feedwater and cooling systems. Experience working in a production facility or with EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) systems is an asset. Supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing or utility environment preferred.
Skills: Technical troubleshooting, data interpretation, strong organizational/documentation skills, and effective teamwork.
Mindset: Safety-oriented, analytical, adaptable, and proactive with a commitment to continuous improvement.
Position Details
Full-time permanent position
Schedule: Rotating 7-day shifts (12-hour days and nights)
7 days on (day shifts) → 7 days off → 7 days on (night shifts) → 7 days off
Starting salary: $70,000 – 75,000, with increases based on seniority and demonstration of company values
