Production Operator – 4th Class Power Engineer

Polynt Coatings Canada Limited is seeking Production Operators to join our growing team in Port Moody, BC. The Port Moody facility is currently undergoing significant upgrades to meet rising global demand for our products and this role would provide the right candidate with the opportunity to play an important role in these activities.

Reporting to the Production Manager, the successful candidate(s) would be responsible operation of the batch process, including loading/offloading of raw materials and finished goods, in a 24/7 manufacturing facility.

Job Duties:

Manage all phases of batch processing and packaging of finished goods.
Manually charge materials to reactors and collect samples from in process batches as well as final products.
Update values in SAP system for accurate tracking of plant material inventories.
Adhere to all site safety procedures and ensure that all work activities are carried out safely.
Maintain a detailed knowledge of the properties and hazards of all raw materials and finished products.
Conduct rounds to ensure reliable operation of process equipment (storage tanks, pumps, cooling towers, etc.) as well as site utilities (high pressure boiler, thermal oil system, compressed air system, etc.).
Report any equipment issues to management and maintenance to ensure timely corrective action.
Load finished products into tank trucks, drums, totes, and other packaging as required.
Ensure accuracy of all measurements and take detailed notes of material charges and times in shift log as well as database systems. Must have ability to perform basic unit conversions accurately.
Support plant EHS, Maintenance, and Utility personnel as directed by management. This may require moving pallets using a forklift and movement of drums, hoses, and operation of manual valves.
Use of Distributed Control System (DCS) to convey materials and monitor plant processes.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Qualifications Required:

4th Class Power Engineering Certification (required).
3 years industrial experience (preferred).
Previous experience with forklift operation and TDG documentation an asset.
Physical Requirements:

Lift and control a minimum of 50 lbs load from floor level to standing position.
Regularly walk, bend, squat, climb stairs/ladders/scaffolds in both indoor and outdoor environments, year-round.
Ability to wear required PPE including full face respirator, safety boots, safety glasses, and hard hat.
Ability to work in cramped spaces including confined spaces.
Shift Details:

12 h rotating shift
24/7 plant operation including holidays.
Pay: $40.43 per hour + shift differentials
