Positions at this level operate and maintain a power plant that has a heating surface of 500 m2 or less or any low pressure steam plant by operating, repairing and carrying out preventative maintenance on the boilers, air conditioning units, emergency power and other related equipment of the facility. Performs mechanical maintenance, repairs and replacement duties related to the physical plant, buildings and equipment approaching various journeyman trades qualifications. Supervise other maintenance workers and designated staff as required. Manages contractors and projects as required.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Days, Evenings, Nights – 07:00 to 19:00, 19:00 to 07:00, 06:45 to 18:45, 11:00 to 23:00 (rotating)

NOTE: Position requires incumbent to assume on call duties as part of a shared rotation. Position requires incumbent to work at alternate sites within Terrace as required. Position may require incumbent to work at alternate sites within the NH HSDA.

Mills Memorial Hospital is a fully accredited 44-bed Acute Care facility and receives an average of 24,700 ER visits per year. Services include:
10-bed Psychiatric unit
3 surgical suites
Three ICU beds
Extensive Day Care service

Community based programs such as

Terrace The thriving community of Terrace is northern living at its best. Snow-capped mountains, pristine glacier-fed rivers, lakes and streams all add to the beauty of this community. Qualifications
Certificate of competency as a 4th Class Power Engineer.
Grade 10 plus (4) years’ recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Valid driver’s license.

Ability to deal with others effectively.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications.
Ability to organize work and prioritize work assignments.
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
Ability to operate related equipment.
