Sonic Milling has a patented technology that allows it to make outstanding Oat Based beverages. We are seeking a 3rd or 4th Class Power Engineer to join our Saskatoon team.
Reporting to the Operations Manager with a dotted line to the Facilities Manager (Chief Engineer), this position is responsible to care for the plant’s 401kW High Pressure Boiler along with other operational and infrastructure equipment like valves, piping, PLCs and motors as well as some specialize food processing equipment. The Power Engineer will also be part of the Operations Team, running the milling and related Ultra High Temperature equipment that makes our products. This position is responsible for compliance with government regulations and food safety including completion of all documentation and procedures in this area. Experience in a manufacturing plant, preferably within the Aseptic Beverage industry, is an asset. You must be able to work with minimal supervision, and as part of a multi-disciplined team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
This is a full-time position currently based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. This position will require relocation to the Edmonton, Alberta area in 2027 as part of our expansion plans.
Qualifications
o Power Engineer Certificate (4th Class or better)
o Boiler Operating experience 1 -2 years
o Refrigeration Ticket
o Experience in the Beverage Industry (dairy, brewery, juice, soda, etc) is preferred.
o Knowledge of HACCP, Food Safety compliance requirements is an asset.
o Lean Six Sigma or Total Productive Maintenance experience an asset.
o Ability to trouble shoot and operate specialized processing equipment.
