Coordinator, Operations and Maintenance
Lethbridge School Division is seeking an ideal candidate for the position of Coordinator, Operations and Maintenance. This role is responsible in overseeing of the physical maintenance, safety and upgrading of existing buildings and grounds in conjunction with the Director of Facility Services. Supporting and the monitoring the coordination of projects carried out by the Department. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of various facility trades, strong computer skills, sound judgment, and excellent interpersonal abilities.

The Role
This position is responsible for assisting the Director with the formulation and amendment of policies and guidelines for maintenance operations, budgets, and construction standards. Assisting in the planning, development, monitoring, implementing, and evaluating of all the Department services and activities, including maintenance, facilities and grounds safety, new construction, modernization, Infrastructure Maintenance and Renewal (IMR), and Capital Maintenance and Renewal (CMR). The Coordinator, Operations and Maintenance also has responsibility for coordinating and supervising the day to day operations, tasks and work projects of the maintenance trades and grounds personnel.
This position requires the following:
Knowledgeable in maintenance systems including preventive and predictive techniques.
Knowledgeable of and able to use Microsoft Products, Maintenance Ticket Systems Health and Safety Systems, Electronic Access Control System, Building Management Systems, and Project Management Systems.
Proven capabilities to manage work scheduling, budgeting, and prioritizing multiple tasks.
Able to prepare department goals and objectives.
Has excellent working knowledge of contract procedures and tendering law.
Strong working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Code and Regulations.
Demonstrated ability to prepare annual work forecasts/budgets and manage same.
The successful candidate must be highly confidential, a self-starter, an innovative thinker, personable, decisive, a strong team leader and able to positively interact with the public. A strong technology background is essential. Holding and maintaining a valid 4th or 5th Class Power Engineer Certificate will be an asset to this role.
What will you work?
1.0 FTE (35 hours per week)

Requirements
Education and Experience Required:
Required to hold a Journeyperson Certificate and equivalent experience in project management.
Training and experience in an applicable certified trade within the construction industry.
Supervisory experience in a complex multifaceted organization.
Experience in trades, construction and project management.
Proof of Grade 12 or General Educational Development (GED). Education received outside of Canada will require a Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) or International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) confirming high school or post secondary equivalencies.
Valid Class 5 Alberta drivers license.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

A police information check; including Vulnerable Sector Check from Police Services or an RCMP detachment that does not have any charges or convictions.
A satisfactory Intervention Record Check from South Region Alberta Child and Family Services.
Proof of photo identification, may be a valid driver’s licence, provincial identification card as issued by a licensed government registry office, valid passport or Nexus card. If one cannot be provided, a new card must be obtained and proof of application provided within three days of hire.
Documentation of a valid Social Insurance Number in the employee’s legal name. If valid Social Insurance documentation in the current legal name can not be provided, the successful candidate will be required to obtain a new one within three days of hire.
Hold and maintain a valid Class 5 Alberta drivers license.
Benefits
Salary range for this position is $82,500-85,000 depending on education and experience.
