Reporting to the CAO, this senior exempt position is responsible for effective management of the Village’s municipal infrastructure including installation, operation, maintenance, repair, and replacement of roads, water, sewer, storm, sidewalks, lighting, parks & recreational facilities, cemetery and water and wastewater treatment utilities.

The successful candidate will have proven leadership, communication and organizational skills, and will maintain effective working relationships with staff, businesses, other government agencies, contractors, consultants, and the public.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills; a Civil Engineering Technology Diploma is preferred and be eligible for registration with the Applied Technologists and Technicians of British Columbia (ASTTBC), along with comprehensive work experience in all facets of municipal government services. Additional assets would be EOCP Certification in Water / Wastewater, a 5th Class Power Engineer – Refrigeration Operator Endorsement, and Backflow Prevention.

The incumbent will plan and implement public works & recreation initiatives utilizing innovative strategies and provide leadership to a dedicated team. Preparation and monitoring of budgets, ensuring health & safety policies and standards are followed, communicating with all stakeholders including dealing effectively with Council, staff and the public in a positive and proactive manner is essential in this diverse role.

The Village offers a competitive salary with a comprehensive benefit package for this senior management position. The salary range is $90,000 – 110,000 based on a combination of qualifications and experience.
