Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced individual to join our team in the role of Maintenance Technician at PEI Mussel King – a key position dedicated to maintaining and upgrading our equipment and facilities.

The successful candidate will require a strong understanding of industrial equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, with the ability to adhere to safety standards.

Job Accountabilities

Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems and machinery, while ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
Ability to install and maintain complex systems such as power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, using advanced troubleshooting techniques to resolve issues.
Work proactively on the Preventive Maintenance plan from the Plant Manager, ensuring optimal performance and longevity of new equipment in alignment with operational efficiency goals.
Participating in continuous training on best practices and new system operations, ensuring compliance with operational standards.
Qualifications

A strong background in Mechanical/Electrical systems is preferred.
Possession of a Refrigeration ‘B’ license or Power Engineer certification is considered an asset.
Have a solid understanding of hydraulic systems, pneumatics, and mechanical systems, with the ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
Experience in ordering parts, managing inventory, and coordinating with third-party contractors.
Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems, and the ability to input data, generate reports, and analyze maintenance trends.
Ability to operate a variety of hand tools and power tools safely.
Physically fit and capable of performing all assigned duties – including lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces.
Permanent Resident or Canadian citizen
Must have access to a vehicle – operation is located 20 minutes outside of Charlottetown.
COMPENSATION/BENEFITS

PEI Mussel King is offering the following compensation/benefits for this position:

WAGE RANGE

Starting at $30.00/hour (weekly payroll) – based on industry knowledge and experience.
Full-time Permanent position – hours will vary based on industry/seasonal demands.
