Maintenance Technician

We are currently looking for a hard working and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team.

The shift schedule for this position is Monday – Friday (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM)

The responsibilities:

Provide technical support to the Production Lead, and Millwright in facility and plant maintenance.
Proficiency in interpreting and working with process instrumentation diagrams (PID’s) to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of our systems.
Responsible for performing all necessary repairs on equipment and machinery.
Coordinate and implement the Preventive maintenance program.
Review, identify, and implement new machine maintenance and calibration requirements.
Coordinate and work closely with production to minimize machine downtime.
Responsible for reporting on any equipment maintenance and repairs issues to the Plant Manager, Assistant Manager and Shift Supervisors.
Assist outside contractor for machine repair and maintenance and ensure to communicate and coordinate with the plant leaders.
Responsible for operating and monitoring boiler operation within established parameters.
Responsible for any tools, parts and lubricants used in maintenance or repair to properly store after completion of each task, this includes inventory can-ban creation and maintenance.
Interface with and pull estimates for external maintenance and calibration contracts.
Ensure that necessary safety protocol is followed based on provincial and company safety standards.
Other job-related duties and projects, as assigned.
What you bring to our team:

Grade 12 Diploma, or equivalent.
2-4 years experience in a similar role
Minimum 1 year of experience with process instrumentation diagrams (PID’s)
Minimum of a 5th Class Power Engineer certification or willingness to get the certification.
Forklift Certified (or willing to obtain)
Demonstrated experience in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic service, and repair.
Demonstrate analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot production issues.
Experience in trouble shooting automated equipment and interfacing with PLC considered an asset.
Great attention to detail with the ability to be accurate and thorough.
Self-starter able to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize.
Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively, tactfully, and professionally to internal and external stakeholders.
Basic math skills.
Understanding of QMS (Quality Management System) as they relate to this position.
