Job Description

Reporting to the plant manager, your duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Responsible for the safe operations of the refrigeration plant
Maintain and operate ammonia and Freon refrigeration systems, HVAC, compressed air systems, water treatment, auxiliaries and distribution systems, and maintenance around the plant.
Perform repairs and general maintenance duties associated with the refrigeration and boiler systems and report anomalies to the plant manager.
Troubleshoot mechanical breakdown relating to the utilities to ensure minimal impact to production
Complete routine inspection and testing of equipment and infrastructure, including check and tests for leaks, to ensure proper operations
Document readings on plant equipment including boilers, water, and gas consumption, monitor and record flow rates, pressures and temperatures within specific temperature parameters.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment by ensuring the facility is operating in compliance with the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA)
Complete work orders and apply corrective measures in a timely manner
Assist maintenance team with repairs and preventative maintenance tasks
Reporting to Chief Refrigeration Operator/Maintenance Coordinator
Ability to work in noisy conditions, in a cold environment and occasionally from heights
Perform other maintenance and repair tasks as required.
Requirements

High School Diploma
Ontario Fourth-class Power Engineer Certification
Strong mechanical aptitude
Experience within a TSSA-regulated ammonia facility
Knowledge and experience on Ammonia Refrigeration Systems
Must be able to read and understand blue prints
5 years of experience working in Cold Warehouse
Computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
