A senior independent crude oil and natural gas exploration, development and production company based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada is looking for a Refrigeration/Gas Plant Operator.

Position Overview:

A Refrigeration/Gas Plant Operator position is available at the Hamburg 11-14-097-11W6 facility located approximately 160km North West of Manning, AB. This position is in a sweet facility on an 8on / 6off shift, providing a candidate with 4th class steam at half rate (candidates with their 4th class exams completed will be considered). Refrigeration experience is an asset.

You will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of 4 compressors and 6 field wells. Daily activities include: running checks of equipment, monitoring tank levels, managing NGL & condensate inventories for trucking, pigging, and supporting other field, plant, and subcontracting services.

Candidates local to the Peace Country are preferred but all qualified applicants will be considered.

Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Operate and oversee sweet plant operations.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot operating equipment.
  • Responsible for isolation and permitting activities in a large industrial setting
  • Perform general housekeeping.
  • Ensure plant adheres to safety and environmental rules.
  • Identify process deviations and perform root cause/corrective action.
  • Conduct area inspections and audits.
  • Control and operate equipment such as loaders, trucks, and forklifts.
  • Handle material and cargo.
  • Perform preventive and routine maintenance.

Primary Qualifications and Skills:

  • 4th Class power engineering certification (certification progress will be considered)
  • Experience in refrigeration facilities preferred
  • Excellent communication skill
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Work well with others in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work twelve-hour rotating shifts and cover other operators during their absences.
  • Supply your own transportation, insurance, and basic hand tools.
  • Experience with: Plunger lift, Gas Compression, Scada
