Conditions of Employment:

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Must have a valid Manitoba 3rd Class Power Engineering Certificate.
Must have and maintain a valid Class 5 Full Driver’s Licence.
Must be physically capable of performing the duties of the position, including wearing Personal Protective Equipment.
Must have satisfactory Criminal Record Check and enhanced security screening.
Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces.
Qualifications:
Essential:

Extensive experience in power plant/facility management, operations and maintenance.
Supervisory experience, including highly developed coaching and leadership skills.
Knowledge of safe work practices, procedures and relevant safety policies and legislation.
Interpersonal and teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external contacts.
Organizational and time management skills.
Knowledge of policies and regulations related to operation of boilers and steam plants.
Experience using Building Automation/Controls e.g. HVAC applications such as Delta DDC system or other PLC controlled systems.
Analytical and decision making skills.
Experience using the programs of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Desired:Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management System, such as SAP or other related software.
Duties:
Reporting to the Facility Manager, the incumbent is responsible for the operation and maintenance of a Third Class Power Plant and associated equipment at Headingley Correctional Centre. The incumbent provides technical and administrative support to the Facility Manager and assumes some of the responsibilities of the Facility Manager in their absence.
