West Fraser offers a range of exciting career opportunities for individuals seeking challenging and rewarding careers. Our 100 Mile Lumber division in 100 Mile House, British Columbia, is recruiting for a 100 Mile Lumber – Chief 4th Class Power Engineer.

You’ll Do:

Responsible for the safe and optimum operation of the 100 Mile Lumber thermal oil plant and dry kilns. This thermal oil plant consists of three biomass heating units. The heat generated is used to dry lumber in six lumber kilns and provides building heating for the sawmill and planer.
Provide leadership, direction and supervision to the thermal oil plant operating crew
Safety management including orientation, training, worker observations, identifying and correcting safety hazards, accident and near miss investigations, emergency protection systems and site audits
Ensuring optimum potation of the thermal oil plant
Contractor management
Reliability management including monitoring oil analysis and vibration analysis reports, planning and scheduling maintenance, operator care rounds, lubrication and spare parts management
You have:

Proven Leadership skills and experience
A 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate
Industrial experience preferably including Thermal oil and/or power generation
Knowledge of kiln lumber drying
Strong organizational and communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and team building skills
Demonstrated problem solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills
Desire to progress, learn, grow and succeed
