The Fourth-Class Power Engineer/Shift Engineer will maintain all facility mechanical power systems (boiler, refrigeration & HVAC systems) and ensure operational uptime on all systems. A key focus will be on the overall preventative maintenance strategies, ensuring production demands are consistently met while complying with applicable legislation. Effective preventative maintenance of equipment within the food processing facility is critical to prevent breakdowns that cause downtime in production; physical or chemical contamination from poorly serviced equipment such as cooling, heating, water, and steam are essential for food processing activities. The Engineer will perform the work related to supporting these systems and oversee all 3rd party external trades when required to perform work.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
– Monitor the operation of plant and power systems.
– Submit proper documentation of work into the CMMS Program.
– Regularly inspect the facility to identify potential risks.
– Communicate with managers and employees on repairs, issues and workflow.
– Work closely with and assist the Maintenance department as needed.
– Follow procedures, rules, and regulations in all day-to-day duties.
– Ensure contractors are following all site rules.
– Manage the uninterrupted operation of boilers and assist with operation and repair of plumbing and electrical.
– Operate and maintain high- and low-pressure boilers, chillers, cooling towers and all other HVAC equipment.
– Water treatment testing.
– Working with Chemicals (ammonia)
– Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
– Eight/Ten-hour shifts (Must be flexible on schedule)
– Weekend on-call on rotation
REQUIREMENTS:
– Valid TSASK Fourth Class Power Engineer License
– Valid TSASK Refrigeration Engineer License, an asset
– Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
– Ability to complete projects on time and act with a sense of urgency.
