EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY : Power Engineer

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented 4th Class Power Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting power plant systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient energy production. Your expertise will support the continuous operation of complex mechanical and electrical systems, contributing to the overall success of our facility. This position offers an exciting opportunity for those passionate about engineering and system management to make a meaningful impact in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities include:

General maintenance of ammonia based refrigeration system
Cleaning, painting and maintenance of two main compressor rooms including piping and related equipment.
Daily checks, maintenance of various compressors, plate freezers and related equipment.
Assist in supervision of daily operations of all refrigeration equipment (compressors, condensers, plate freezers, cold storage evaporators, hydraulic equipment etc…)
Assist in daily startup and shutdown of refrigeration equipment during production days.
Monitoring cold storage warehouses for proper operation of equipment.
Perform routine maintenance and inspection of boilers
Repair or restore parts of boiler systems
Assist the company’s chief boiler technician in monitoring boilers and performing daily tests, adjusting equipment for optimal functioning
Testing water quality of boilers
Assist in daily startup and shutdown of boiler equipment during production days.
Operate machinery: Use automated or computerized controls for reactors, boilers, and other equipment.
Monitor and inspect: Check instruments for temperature and pressure, detect malfunctions, and ensure peak efficiency.
Perform maintenance: Clean, lubricate, and perform minor repairs on equipment.
Provide utility services: Generate electricity and provide heat, light, and refrigeration for commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings.
Required Knowledge and Skills:

Interprovincial fourth class power engineer licence is required.
Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing
Solid mathematical skills
Great problem solving skills
Sufficient physical strength and stamina to complete required tasks.
A demonstrated aptitude for mechanical and electrical work
Good manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination
Compensation:

Competitive wages depending on certifications and experience

Pay: $25.66-$34.11 per hour
