We, a progressive fish processing plant located in Surrey, BC, are seeking an experienced, highly motivated, and detail orientated 4th Class Power Engineer to join our team.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Boiler, Refrigeration, Plant Equipment and Processing Systems.
Monitor and carry out daily checks on refrigeration and boiler equipment.
Handle equipment and building in a manner that minimizes interruptions in warehouse and production operations.
Troubleshoot, repair and overhaul of existing equipment in a timely matter.
Analyze and record instrument readings.
Perform general maintenance tasks and repairs throughout the facility as needed.
Use of power and hand tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Training will be provided.
The Right Candidate:

Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently, and understand verbal and written instructions.
Must hold a valid 4th class Power Engineer Ticket.
Prior experience in a related field is required; experience in the food processing industry is highly preferred.
Has working knowledge of Ammonia Refrigeration (preferred).
Is available for shift work and overtime.
Has good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
Can multi-task and work in a highly organized fashion with attention to detail and accuracy.
Can work independently with minimal supervision.
Recent College Graduates and no experience holders are welcome to apply as well

*This is a Full-time position with some overtime and shift work as required.

*Starting wage: $28.00 or higher, depending on level of experience.

Preferred:

This is a Full-time position that requires availability to work Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Additionally, the candidate should be flexible to start later in the afternoon as needed by the company. We also require the candidate to be available for overtime hours during our busy season and as needed if work is pending.

Please note that we are only accepting resumes from applicants who possess a valid 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate. Additionally, we are currently seeking local candidates residing in the Lower Mainland region within a commutable distance from the workplace. Kindly be advised that our plant is not a 3rd Class plant, and therefore, we are unable to offer 3rd Class firing time.

Experience:

Power Engineering: 1 year (Required)
Working in Food Processing Plant: 1 year (Preferred)
Ammonia Refrigeration : 1 year (Preferred)
Millwright: 1 year (Preferred)
HVAC (Preferred)
