4th Class Power Engineer

The Boiler/Kiln Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the boiler, dry kilns, facility alarm system and sprinkler system. The Operator is also responsible for performing quality control of lumber before and during drying periods.

The successful candidate must be a 4th Class Power Engineer, have 1-2 years experience in industry setting performing similar tasks, have heavy equipment operation experience and WHIMIS/OH&S Training.

Ledwidge Lumber is a family-owned sawmill that has been in business for 81 years. We are located in the beautiful town of Enfield, Nova Scotia, a bedroom community to Halifax. The Boiler Operators work independently and as a team on a rotational 4 on/4 off shift. Our dry kilns run 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. Any experience drying lumber is considered an asset.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 45 per week
