Career Opportunity

Canadian Linen is searching for a Casual 3rd or 4th Class Power Engineer. The incumbent will be responsible for the overall efficient branch equipment and physical plant and facility. He/she will ensure standardized, safe, and efficient functioning/operation of all equipment, completion of required scheduled maintenance, correct operation of fresh water and wastewater, and the building structure and capability as a production facility.

Job Description:

Be able to work independently and work cohesively in a team environment.
Work to maintain daily building operations, maintenance and repairs.
Operate and maintain all high-pressure steam, hot water heating and all other pressure piping equipment as per ABSA regulations.
Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot all HVAC equipment.
Maintain waste water systems by testing and treatment of all system and process loops.
Operate power tools and machine shop machinery (saws, drills, milling machines, welders)
Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing routine preventive and corrective maintenance requirements on engines, compressors, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines
Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
On problems with higher complexity, consult with supervisor and/or peer mechanics for guidance/instructions to succeed.
Dismantle machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs. Re-assemble and test after repair.
Assisting outside contractors on major repairs of systems and complex machinery
Knowledge of fire suppression systems, alarm systems, mechanical, HVAC, electrical, control systems, would be an asset.
Job Requirements:

2+ years of experience in similar positions in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Class 3 or 4 Steam Ticket required.
Adhere to all company and Alberta OH&S operating and safety procedures and policies.

Compensation: The hourly rate that Canadian Linen and Uniform Service reasonably expects to pay for this position range is $32.82, depending on circumstances including an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors.
