JLL is seeking a Chief Engineer to lead our engineering operations at a prestigious commercial property. The ideal candidate will oversee all building systems, manage a team of engineers, and ensure optimal performance of facility operations. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining a world-class work environment for our clients.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Oversee, direct and assign preventative maintenance and tenant request work orders to building mechanical team.
Report to mechanical supervisor with clear and concise direction on materials needed and contractor assistance requests.
Daily inspections of the building mechanical and electrical systems and all required maintenance and repairs. This includes lighting/electrical systems, chilled/heating water systems, rooftop equipment, compressors and boilers, as well as HVAC control systems and fire alarm/sprinkler systems.
Amend, update existing PM tasks and descriptions, or develop new if needed.
Help create, document, and develop Standard Operating.
Procedures for various duties/tasks in relation to building mechanical equipment.
Monitor and assist contractors in the efficient performance of their contracted duties.
Record mechanical readings at regular intervals.
Ensure daily log books are being filled in and kept up to date by mechanical team.
Maintain preventative maintenance program for all life safety equipment and performing repairs.
Keep track of inventory, ensure proper storage of materials, equipment, chemicals, tools, etc.
Maintain good public relations with tenants.
Evening and weekend work may be required.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Successful applicants must possess a valid BC or Inter-Provincial 4th Class Power Engineer’s Certificate. Additional certification, including a Refrigeration or Electrical TQ would be considered an asset.
12+ years of practical experience with a strong knowledge of HVAC control systems.
Leadership skills and prior experience running a team.
Ability to build new or develop existing standard operating procedures and preventative maintenance manuals.
Ability to work with hand tools and at heights.
Ability to meet tight deadlines to resolve building issues in a timely manner.
Resourceful team player with excellent communication skills and ability to manage numerous tasks simultaneously.
Valid BC Driver’s Licence required.
