MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN – (4TH CLASS POWER ENGINEER)

Purplefarm Genetics is one of Canada’s premier craft cannabis producers. Coming from the legacy market, Purplefarm Genetics currently operates a 12,000 sq ft facility out of Johnstown, Ontario and is expanding to Fredericton, New Brunswick to operate a 90,000 sq ft facility.
Purplefarm Genetics is one of Canada’s premier craft cannabis producers, and with our expansion into Fredericton, NB, we are looking for a Maintenance Technician – (4th Class Power Engineer).
Reporting to the Facilities Manager of the Fredericton site, the Maintenance Technician – (4th Class Power Engineer) will be responsible for the maintenance and care of the building heating plant, which is comprised of four, 4 million BTU Viessmann boilers. This will include routine checks to ensure the boilers are operated and maintained in accordance with the New Brunswick Boiler and Pressure Vessel Act. In addition, the Maintenance Technician – (4th Class Power Engineer) will be part of a maintenance team that will conduct daily routine maintenance of the facility’s other installed equipment to ensure the safe and effective operation of the overall site.
Responsibilities:
Input and update information to ensure all maintenance activities are properly recorded
Help resolve maintenance issues or complaints brought up by other departments
Ensure cleanliness of facility at all times
Communicate with team, contractors and suppliers
Ensure work is completed in accordance with company safety procedures
Follow Standard Operating Procedures, including machine maintenance logs
Must be able to work different shifts including some weekend work
Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
● 4th Class Power Engineer License
● Problem solving skills; willingness and flexibility to foresee and overcome obstacles
HVAC experience considered an asset
● Knowledge of safety procedures
● Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
● Basic knowledge in computer applications
● Ability to organize/prioritize workload
● Attention to detail and accuracy
● Ability to work flexibly in a fast paced, quickly changing, team environment
Position:
Full-time, Fredericton, N.B. facility
Overtime is required during peak times and to meet deadlines
