POSITION TYPE: Full-Time Position Available

SALARY: $62,462 – $88,108 per annum

POSITION LOCATION: Stevenson Campus (Winnipeg, MB)

ELIGIBILITY LIST: This competition may be used to establish a 6 month eligibility list of qualified candidates for future vacancies.

DUTIES
Reporting to the Manager, Maintenance, the Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the efficient and sustainable operation of all building related systems in order to provide a safe and comfortable environment for staff, students, and guests of College Facilities. Working under the laws, rules, and codes, of the authorities having jurisdiction will oversee all work carried out by RRC Polytech pre-approved vendors and their sub-trades within the facility which they have been assigned to. The Maintenance Engineer ensures that all preventive maintenance, annual and semi-annual inspections, and maintenance procedures on heating, cooling, electrical, fire alarm, and backup generator systems are carried out.

The incumbent of this position will be required to work Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and on-call as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Journey person’s accreditation in any of the Provincially accredited trade groups (HVAC Tech) or a Third-class Power Engineer certificate. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered (i.e. 4th class w/relevant experience)
Several years’ experience in a building operations environment

Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in the areas of mechanical, plumbing, carpentry and painting

Capable of multi-tasking and providing direction to various trade groups without overlap or confusion

Superior customer service skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to effectively prioritize work in a fast-paced environment

Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment

Experience with Preventative Maintenance Scheduling

Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with the use of Microsoft Office

Training in safety procedures

Knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety policies and procedures

Experience with the use of Alerton DDC or Other building control related Software
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada

This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends

Incumbent must hold a valid class 5 driver`s license

Incumbent must provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Records Check

This position may be required to work overtime

This position is subject to audiometric assessments

May be required to work at various RRC Polytech campuses
