Relief Supervisor

Overview

 

We are a leading pulp and paper mill seeking a dedicated and experienced Steam & Recovery Relief Supervisor to join our team. The incumbent will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the operation of our First-Class Steam and Recovery Boiler Plant, ensuring optimal performance and safety while maintaining production standards. This is a permanent full time role.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the S&R Manager, the S&R Relief Supervisor is accountable for the supply of water, steam, power, cooking chemicals and air to the Kraft Paper Mill and be responsible for:
Supervising approximately 8 employees on shift
Evaluating test results and work with the Technical Department when unusual problems occur for follow up analysis.
Monitoring inventory levels of raw materials and make recommendations to area Steam Chief, OMC or Manager.
Ensuring crew members follow safety guidelines and procedures, WHS Regulations, Environmental Regulations, CSA and ASME codes.
Troubleshooting problematic areas within the Department
Qualifications
2nd Class Power Engineering Certificate is required (3rd Class Power Engineering Certificate, working towards 2nd Class may be considered)
Steam & Recovery operations experience is an asset.
Supervisory experience and / or training are considered an asset.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Proven decision making and trouble shooting skills.
