We have an immediate permanent full-time opening for a Chemical Process Operator / Material Handler at our manufacturing facility located in Delta, BC. The purpose of this role is to handle our products according to production specifications and schedules; volume, cost, safety targets and quality standards.

 

In this role you will be responsible for:

Product production through blending and batch processes
Operating equipment safely and in accordance with instructions.
Performing required tasks in a safe, timely and efficient manner.
Lifting bags of raw materials (25 kg / 55 lbs max)
Packaging, loading and unloading of containers, tank trucks
Forklift operation
Maintaining cleanliness of related equipment and work areas to ensure adherence to health and safety requirements.
Minor manufacturing of batch chemicals
Minor maintenance and preparation of equipment for maintenance
Participation in the site health, safety, environmental and quality processes and initiatives.

 

What you’ll bring to the team:

BC Class 1 driver’s license or a commitment to train and obtain quickly.
Ideally BC 4th Class Power Engineer certificate of competency is an asset.
Thorough understanding of product manufacture including taking appropriate measures to correct in-process problems that may be product or equipment related.
Must be able to use Windows-based computer programs in order to use HMI software and Microsoft Office software (Excel, Outlook, and Word).
Mechanical aptitude.
Ability to operate a forklift
Fluent in English (oral & written).
We seek individuals preferably with prior experience in a chemical material handling role, but is not mandatory. Candidates must have reliable personal transportation and be available to work rotating shifts.
