PURPOSE

The Operating Engineer is accountable to the Supervisor, Operations for performing routine preventative and in house maintenance activities pertaining to the building and site equipment in a timely and cost-efficient manner to ensure uninterrupted performance of all building systems and programs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Building Maintenance
Performs routine, preventative and in house maintenance and schedule programming of all building and site equipment (incl. all HVAC, fire, life, safety and emergency systems and energy equipment) and structural components of the building to ensure the property adheres to the company standard policies & procedures.

2. Life, Safety and Emergency Systems
Ensures all building life, safety and emergency systems are maintained: including the routine fire alarm tests and fire warden meetings and compliance with all Health and Safety, Risk Management and environmental policies and procedures as they relate to the property; responsible for log keeping related to building general as well as life and safety systems.

3. Tenant Services
Performs minor repairs and installations pertaining to non-structural and non-vital systems of the property as required (including HVAC components) and performs routine roof inspections; keeps all maintenance repair logs for the property to ensure uninterrupted operation of non-vital building systems while ensuring comfort level is of highest standards.

4. Ad-hoc Requests
Complete requests assigned by the Operations Supervisor and management personnel on-site. Any other job related duties and/or projects that may be assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Education

Valid 4th-Class Power Engineer Certification
Angus Maintenance program an asset
Minimum valid 5th-Class Driver’s License
Knowledge of Trane Tracer Summit DDC an asset
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in building operations
Available to be “on-call” for shift coverage

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
