Overview of the Role
This position is responsible of taking in charge and maintaining 600HP & 300 HP Fire Tube Boilers and related equipment in the Saskatoon Operation on a 12-hour rotating schedule, in a 24/7 operation. The position reports to the Power Engineer, the Maintenance Manager & works closely with other maintenance staff.
Salary
$45.01 per hour
How you will make contributions that matter:
Ensure that all work is performed safely while following OH&S, WCB, Food Safety protocol, GMP’s and Company regulations and procedures.
Maintain and operate Boilers, Refrigeration and Air Compression systems.
Be able to cover shifts on short notice
Respond to production calls related to the Boiler and Refrigeration.
Perform daily duties and monitoring.
Perform engineering maintenance and conducting related Preventative maintenance and work orders.
Shift work involved – when covering vacation, sick time etc
Must accurately complete and maintain documentation as required.
Able to work overtime, statutory holidays, and weekends, as required
Other duties as assigned and as required.
You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:
5th Class Power Engineering Certificate and refrigeration ticket is required or;
3rd class Power Engineering Certificate would be an asset;
Experience on High Pressure boilers;
Ammonia Refrigeration experience would be an asset;
Mechanical Background would be an asset (Small pump seal repair, electric motor replacement, Belt and pully repair);
HVAC troubleshooting would be an asset
Plumbing: soldering copper, threading pipe, PVC assembly would be an asset.
Food industry experience;
Excellent trouble shooting skills;
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision;
High level of self-motivation and initiative;
Experience in a HACCP environment would be an asset;
Dependable with a good attendance;
Standard First-Aid, TDG, Confined Space Entry, Forklift, would be an asset.
