As a Maintenance Worker II, you may perform a variety of skilled maintenance and repair work on patient and hospital equipment and intermediate mechanical systems to ensure safety and efficient operation of the building systems and equipment. You may utilize your maintenance skills and experience in the performance of preventative and demand maintenance within the exterior and interior of the building. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the CUPE 408 St. Joseph’s Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:Must have a 5th Class Power Engineering Certificate or equivalent experience 1 to 2 years related experience working in a computerized maintenance environment which includes operating and maintaining a variety of grounds keeping and building maintenance equipment and tools. Must have a valid Class 5 drivers license

Additional Required Qualifications:This is a casual position with no guaranteed hours. There is an on call rotation that is required upon completion of training. 5th class power engineer’s certificate would be an asset.

Preferred Qualifications:must be able to work outside in all types of weather. Must be able to safely operate grounds keeping equipment. Must be able to walk/stand for long periods of time. Must be able to safely lift 50 lbs. safely work off of a ladder. Have a solid basic background in plumbing, electrical and carpentry repairs. Must be able to safely use hand/power tools. A criminal record check is required if successful in selection for this position.
