Location: Across Calgary in Multiple Care Centres (Brentwood Care Centre, Southwood Care Centre, Chinook Care Centre & Kingsland Terrace)

Type: Casual

Wage: As per collective agreement

Hours of Work: flexibility required

Position Summary:

The Maintenance Staff under the direction of the Maintenance Manager/designate is responsible for maintaining operations of physical plant services within designated Intercare facilities, ensuring building systems and equipment are in safe working condition by performing preventive maintenance operations including preventive maintenance checks, building inspections, repairs, janitorial duties and necessary grounds maintenance. Works in partnership with other team members to improve the performance of individuals, teams and the organization in providing improved customer service for residents, guests, and staff.

Qualifications:

Brings a caring, compassionate and empathetic approach.
Minimum of two years experience in a related position to obtain sufficient. practical experience to satisfactorily perform the responsibilities of the position.
Preference will be given to applicants with carpentry, electrical or plumbing knowledge, and a Power Engineering Fifth Class certificate.
Ability to read, write and comprehend the English language.
Mentally and physically able to perform duties as outlined.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and to complete assignments in a timely manner.
Demonstrates concern and interest in providing a safe and attractive environment for facility customers, i.e., residents, guests, and staff.
Demonstrates effective communication, problem solving and organizational skills.
Ability to function as an effective team member with other Staff, Residents, Families and the Public.
Personal transportation is required.
Available for emergency call-back when necessary.
