ROLE: Millwright / Electrician

REPORTS TO: Director, Technical Support & Operations

LOCATION: Burnaby

We are looking for a Millwright or Electrician Journeyman to join our Maintenance team! Our Millwright will be responsible for installing, repairing, troubleshooting, and maintaining equipment on the production line!

Skills & Experience

· You have 3-5 years of relevant experience in a busy plant environment

· You have a strong background in electrical diagnostics and repair

· You have experience and ability to troubleshoot PLC and program logic an asset

· Working Knowledge of HMI as they relate to processing, filling equipment in a food-manufacturing environment

· You have strong computer skills including MS Office Suite

· You have excellent mathematical and mechanical skills

· You have great interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)

Nice-to-Have

· Fabrication experience an asset with the ability to TIG weld

· Power engineering certificate 4th. Class or higher level

· Experience and/or education in lean manufacturing; Six Sigma

· Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures

· Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and find irregularities and malfunctions

· Operate hoisting/lifting device and operate machine tools as needed

· Install, align, take apart, and move stationary industrial machinery/mechanical equipment using appropriate tools

· Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts

· Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery

· 10 hour shifts, depending on scheduled shift

· 40 hour regular work week schedule

· Shift start and end times will vary, with Days, Afternoons or Evening Shifts

Detailed Description of duties:

· Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures

· Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and find irregularities and malfunctions

· Operate hoisting and lifting devices, such as cranes, jacks and tractors, to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up, and repair of machinery

· Install, align, take apart and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces and generators according to layout plans using hand and power tools

· Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts

· Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery

· Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls

· Operate machine tools, such as lathes and grinders, to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery

· Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation by using hand and power tools and welding equipment

· Other duties as assigned

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $34.00-$36.00 per hour
